The Christadelphian ecclesia in Stafford, England

Rugeley Special Effort and Campaign

Stafford ecclesia are planning a weekend Special Effort for October 2014 and an ALS campaign for May 2015. Both events will be held in Rugeley. We would very much welcome the support of brethren and sisters, especially from other local ecclesias.

We will keep this page up to date with more detailed plans and information as and when they are available.

This page is not readily accessible to the public. Our main public page about the events is here.

Special Effort - Friday 24th to Sunday 26th October 2014

Theme : God's Roadmap to Peace

The weekend special effort will be centred on the Bible Today Exhibition displayed in the Pavilion at Lea Hall Social Club in Sandy Lane. This is a very good location with good footfall and convenient parking.

Since we cannot get access to the Pavilion until the Friday morning we will need to make an early start in order to have the exhibition ready to open at 10.00 am.

We plan to have the exhibition open on all three days, dismantling on Sunday afternoon after our Bible Hour. We will hold a supplementary Breaking of Bread for those brethren and sisters who staff the exhibition during the normal Sunday morning meeting.

Advertising is planned as follows:

  • We hope to have significant advertising and editorial coverage in the September edition of the Chase Gazette.
  • We hope to have coverage in the Rugeley Advertiser and maybe the Armitage Village Advertiser.
  • We will send out letters to our established preaching contacts.
  • 2,000 leaflets will be distributed in the Rugeley area.
  • The literature trailer will be used in the town centre with specially-prepared handouts.

Other ideas

We are considering offering seminar "taster sessions" to encourage people to sign up for a full seminar series in Spring 2015.

Rugeley Campaign - 23rd - 30th May 2015

Theme: The Coming World Peace

The week-long ALS campaign will use the main Bible Exhibition, again located in the Pavilion. Part of the week will also coincide with our usual stand at the Staffordshire County Show at the County Showground, Uttoxeter Road, Stafford.

We are planning for 20 vacational campaigners in addition to plenty of support from local ecclesias.

We plan to appoint a campaign leader as soon as possible and will discuss with him our ideas for the week's activities. Initial ideas include:

  • A stall on Rugeley market. This may offer Christadelphian Africrafts products for sale as a way of attracting attention and giving us the opportunity to talk to people about the other campaign activities.
  • A stand at the Tesco supermarket to advertise campaign activities.

How YOU can help

Stafford is a small ecclesia and will need help to accomplish all of our plans. Here are some of the ways you can help:

Billing

We plan to have 2,000 A5 ALS Peace leaflets overprinted with the details of the October exhibition and presentation. These will need to be delivered on (or shortly after) Sunday 19 October 2014. We will need a lot of help from local brethren and sisters to complete this work.

Please join us, meeting at Lea Hall Social Club at 3.45 pm. on Sunday 19 October 2014

Exhibition

Please help at the exhibition 24th-26th October 2014

Help will be needed erecting, staffing and dismantling the exhibition. We need to know in advance who can help and when. Please to let us know exactly when and how you can help.

Other ways ...

  • Pray for God's blessing on our efforts.
  • Help with other campaign activities such as billing, helping at the market stall or at the literature trailer.
  • Help with catering for any of the events.
  • Help with children's activities.
  • Offer accomodation for one or more campaigners.
  • Discuss in your ecclesia the possibility of offering help with the costs.

Please be prepared, wherever you can, to make a commitment in advance so that we can make appropriate plans. If you are able to offer help, or if you want to ask for more information
